I went to a photography seminar last night that was such a blast. I learned a lot and met some great photographers there. Photography is moving in so many directions right now, and the photographers that are artists first and foremost are struggling with the business end of things. Since the market is so saturated and there is a recession looming, it is getting harder and harder to stay in the field. Especially when the do-it-yourself movement is in full swing. It is hard to drive home the fact that you DO need a professional photographing your wedding!
Anyway, I will get off of my soapbox and write about what I was intending to write in the first place.
The seminar was at the Hilton Bloomington, which is right off of 494 and France Ave. When I pulled up it looked pretty typical, but when I went inside…wow! The interior design of this hotel is spectacular. I was immediately picturing where I would place a bride and groom and how modern and fun the images would look. The ballrooms were beautiful and I really want to encourage everyone who is planning a reception to look at this place. We could do such a variety of images just in one setting. It is modern and full of texture and color, and mostly in earthtones, so it is very sophisticated.
I highly suggest moving this venue to the top of your list!
