Baby Benjamin

March 10th, 2011

Baby Benjamin was born today!

A fun observation at today’s birth was that Mamma is a labor and delivery nurse, that must be interesting to go through the other side of this process.  And everything went like clockwork.  Baby Ben was born quickly and his parents (and Auntie) were so excited to meet him!  He barely cried, except for when his big sister was on the phone and wanted to talk to him.  I love birth photography because of the emotion I can capture in camera, and when Dad saw Ben for the first time, it was priceless!

Ben is such a sweet baby boy, congrats!

Baby Kina

September 20th, 2010

Baby Kina entered the world this morning!

Since her birth was a Csection, I wasn’t there to photograph that moment, but had the honor of photographing the first time her brothers got to meet her. Kina (Kee-na) is so sweet, and has a mix of features from both brothers. Though mom is exhausted from days of no sleep and the surgery, the family was so excited to meet the newest addition to their family.

All my love to your family! Here’s to many more amazing moments!

Little Girl Anderson

September 8th, 2010

Baby Anderson was born tonight!

Kirsti was amazing. She labored and delivered without any drugs at all! Surrounded by her husband, a midwife, supportive nurses and Brianna, their doula, Kirsti was given support and strength to push through the pain and meet her baby girl.

Little baby Anderson (they have yet to decide on a name) was born just shy of 8lbs and didn’t make a peep, just nestled close to her mother and opened her eyes. I think the best part was seeing Kirsti’s mom when she saw the baby being born…it was so sweet.

Kirsti and Jeremy, I hope you get some rest and enjoy relaxing with your new little one while watching the Vikings tomorrow! Here are my favorite images, enjoy =)

Finn’s First Day

September 1st, 2010

Tonight, a beautiful little soul was born. Finn arrived with bright eyes, long toes, and a wingspan daddy is proud of…they are already talking about what sports he will play!

Even though I arrived after the birth, I was able to get some sweet newborn pictures of the little Irish lad. Mom and Dad were watching the Twins game (they asked them to “win for Finn”) and recovering from the quick birth. The delivery nurse told me that Gabe was one of the best deliveries she had ever seen, which is such a compliment. And Gabe deserves even more props as she gave birth with no meds at all! What an amazing feat!

Proud Grandpa was taking pictures as well, and I love the image I took of Finn holding his hand.

Here are a few of my favorites, check out the one with Tyler using two phones to spread the word!

Adalynn Grace

February 24th, 2010

Beautiful Adalynn Grace was born today!

I love birth photography, to be a witness to such a miracle is amazing. I have been “on call” for about a week, Adalynn’s due date was February 15th! I finally got the call today and rushed over to the hospital. Adalynn waited a few more hours, but when she decided to be born, she didn’t waste any time.

Mamma was a trooper, she did her job well. Dad was so proud to hold his little baby girl, and just stared into her newly opened eyes. Adalynn was 8lbs 14oz and 22in long. She has the longest toes and fingers and the chubbiest cheeks, and strong lungs! One of the first things she did was reach up and touch her Mamma’s face. So sweet!

The best moment was when her older brother got to see her for the first time, and give her a present. And he had picked out flowers for his mom as well. Then, in came the grandparents, and it was such a lovely time of tears, smiles, kisses and hugs (and big brother getting a cool present, too!).

Angie and Andy, thank you SO much for allowing me in the delivery room to cover this moment of your family’s life. I’m so honored to have been a part of it.

Here are my favorite images from today!
