Studio Laguna feels extremely blessed to have our 2012 wedding season so full at this point in the year. We would like to announce that we will be taking very few Friday weddings this year. We want to be able to handle the amount of weddings we are shooting so we are able to give each couple stellar customer service. So if you have a Friday 2012 wedding, please be sure to talk to us earlier rather than later!
The Art of Boudoir
I just wrapped up ordering some lovely boudoir gifts and started brainstorming about what the next Garters and Lace could look like. Modern? Stark? Romantic? Pin up? It just depends on what the clients are looking for…and here are some good places to start for inspiration!
This collection of images is the perfect example of classic pin up. Even light, monochromatic backdrop, cute poses.
I adore the Guess Fall 2011 campaign. It shows how you can incorporate your partner in the shots and how to be cute, flirty and fun while keeping it classy. This shoot is deliciously 50’s and has a very sexy vibe even while fully clothed and using outdoor spaces. Boudoir doesn’t always have to be limited to a hotel room.
Speaking of outdoors, here are some gorgeous examples of pin up style images on the beach.
Here is a photographer who’s work I really enjoy. This boudoir entry of hers shows how you can use the architecture of a space in boudoir.
I hope that these sites show you how different and unique boudoir can be. How you can be completely clothed and still have sexy shots. How you can inject your personality into the shoot and make it your own. How you can incorporate architecture into your images. Keep checking back on this blog and the Studio Laguna facebook page to find out when the next sessions will be or contact us to set up an appointment!
Winter’s Spoon
John and Sara had their engagement session on Sunday.
Luckily, it hadn’t warmed up yet so we still had snow on the ground and the water was frozen over. Why is it important for the water to be frozen over? Well, the ice gave the lovely couple a way to access the cherry and spoon sculpture so we could get a fun picture =) Fun is a good descriptor to use for this couple, and I had a wonderful time getting to know them better. Here are my favorites, enjoy!
French75 and a Manhattan
Kris and Chrissy had their engagement session today.
These two know how to have fun. They know the secret hotspots in town and it is wonderful to hear about their travel experiences. They also love cocktails and know the names of obscure drinks and alcohols, it is fascinating. So we definitely wanted to do a cosmopolitan engagement shoot that incorporated downtown Minneapolis. Kris even pulled out a fedora for some of the shots, he looked so dashing. But as dashing as Kris was, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of Chrissy, and I loved capturing the looks they gave each other.
Here are my favorites, enjoy!
Heart & Stroke Gala
Yesterday the American Heart Association had their annual Heart and Stroke Gala at The Depot in Minneapolis. Cardiovascular disease kills 870,000 Americans a year, so even with decades of hard work and progress, more still needs to be done. This black tie gala was full of doctors, former patients (one that had had a heart transplant just four months ago!), and friends enjoyed great food, browsed the awesome silent auction items, and were treated to a lovely dinner. The ice rink was covered in a temporary floor, and Live Design Productions combined simplicity with elegance by transforming the room into an all white wonderland.
Here are a couple images to give you an idea of how the night looked. More images will be in Minnesota Monthly soon!
