Andy and Erica
Andy and Erica were married today!
Erica used the Independent Wedding Association to research for vendors, and I’m so happy she did!
The ceremony was held at the Lakewood Chapel, and we took time to take pictures before hand to utilize the gorgeous architecture. Erica looked simply stunning in her gown and accessories from Che Bella. She chose a modern navy and gray color palette, and her lace gown brought in a classic element. Her gorgeous lush bouquet, designed by Indulge and Bloom, echoed the texture of her lace.
When the ceremony was done, we headed over to the U of M campus. The reception was being held at the Campus Club, which is very fitting since Andy and Erica met at the U when Erica was a freshman. We took time walking around the Mall with the wedding party, and got some really fun images. After pictures, we went upstairs to the Campus Club for dinner. The food was amazing (definitely made our top 5 wedding meals!) and the guests couldn’t stop talking about the meal and the couple’s signature cocktail served throughout the night. Andy and Erica thought even further and provided pizzas later in the evening, so hungry guests could keep up their energy.
The element that Erica was most excited about was her cake. She chose a blue rock candy design from Cocoa and Fig, and they topped the cake with a daschund bride and groom. She loved it so much that she waited until the last minute to cut the cake ; ) But cutting the cake was worth it, because it of course tasted delicious. The dance started and about an hour in, really kicked into full gear. DJ Nonsense spun records and gave the reception quite the club beat, I liked hearing the songs he mashed together. Inbetween dances, guests lined up to use The Traveling Photobooth, complete with props. The main attraction of the evening was actually something unplanned. The sunset. It was amazing! Full of reds and oranges that were so vibrant, guests were lined up along the windows taking pictures. The skyline view is just one more reason why the Campus Club was the perfect venue.
Andy and Erica, here are our favorite images, enjoy!
Wild Love
Chris and Kelly had their engagement session today.
The impending rainstorms threatened us at first, but instead of rain, we just had gorgeous clouds and soft light to work with. We started our session in front of Xcel Energy Center, where Chris and Kelly first met. Enjoying the gorgeous weather, we took a walk down to Rice Park and back, stopping wherever we found a neat backdrop. Chris and Kelly were great, even when I asked them to do weird poses, and I love how Chris made Kelly laugh =)

Cousins
Today I had a portrait session with a family I adore. Their family session last year had two babies, and now those babies were toddlers and it was a blast watching the older kids interact with the younger.
Since we had six kids to corral, we played a lot and walked around, giving the kids the opportunity to get used to the camera. They all looked so cute in their coordinating outfits! After some more traditional pictures, we did some fun ones as well…and Grammy proved how cool she was by joining in the fun!

Jumpin’ on the Bed
Today I had a portrait session with a wonderful family.
Brian is from a large family, so he and Jenn are used to chaos…and this family session sure tested the limits with a dog and two little ones =) We did a lot of playing, jumping on the bed, funny noises, (ok, and a couple bribes), and wandering the yard capturing all the energy this young family has. There were so many smiles to capture! Brian and Jenn enjoy photography and wanted a laid back session that showed their family’s personality, and I was honored they chose me as a photographer. It was such a blast getting to know them!
Here are a few of my favorites, enjoy!
