Daryl and Jenna were married today! The couple chose a numerically awesome date of 2.22.2020 which also happened to be a year to the date of their engagement. Being blessed with an unusually mild February day for Minnesota, the couple did what they do best…embraced everything to the fullest. Starting off with a first sight filled with laughter, Jenna and Daryl had a truly wonderful day full of love, belly laughs, and some good ole Wisconsin partying.

Jenna’s gown from The Wedding Tree was destined for twirls!

The ceremony took place at the picture perfect Basilica of St Mary in Minneapolis.

After a quick stop for pictures, the couple made sure to spend some time in the Hopkins VFW, where they shared many fond memories, including their engagement! Pull tabs for the win!

The reception was at the Minneapolis Golf Course, and was a warm welcoming space for guests from around the country. The whole crew was ready to party and ensured the festivities lasted far into the night.

Jenna and Daryl, it has been an honor getting to know you and to tell the story of your day. Enjoy your sneak peek!
Natasha and Jordan wanted a beautiful way to dedicate their love, and chose to have a hand fasting in a magical birch grove.

The couple came to hang out at the GatherHaus farm earlier in the year and immediately felt the pull of the land and surroundings. When they learned about handfasting, they wanted to perform this ceremony here and John and I were fortunate to be asked to cover the event. This couple is so full of admiration and love for each other, it was such an honor to watch them weave their lives together.

Handfasting is an ancient tradition and can include as many or as few participants as the couple would like. Each ribbon or strand has a meaning and the couples tie those knots around their hands. For this ceremony, family and friends came from thousands of miles away to participate in sealing this meaningful bond. With tears, both Natasha and Jordan expressed how much each person meant to them and how together they exist as a family. The couple promised respect and dedication in their relationship and to cherish each other. The warm autumn day, the breeze rippling through the wildflowers, the crunch of leaves under foot created the perfect background music to such a lovely event.

Jordan and Natasha, we feel so blessed to call you friends, to have you love our farm as much as we do, and to have told the story of your beautiful ceremony.

Photographing other creatives is always a joy, especially this group of folks! Upswing Creative is a marketing, content creating and branding company that I have worked with many times over the years. I love their premise, their quality and how much fun the staff have together. Creating images of the people and space of Upswing in a way that is as unique and creative as they are was a fantastic challenge and I really enjoy the images that came out of our session. If you’re ever in a need of some brand advice or a shot in the arm for your business, give these folks a holler!

Whenever I photograph businesses, I make sure to get a large variety of images for their use on social media in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Playing with light and reflections.

The owners are a hoot and kept me on my toes!

I really love this image using depth of field and showing off the space in an interesting way.

Laura and Alex were married today!
This wedding was a celebration of melding two families together. Alex was fist pumping over the fact that he could now call Laura’s parents his in-laws! It is quite obvious that this couple loves nurturing solid relationships and celebrating life to the fullest. Today was a day of connection, joy, tenderness, and one heck of a party! The ceremony and reception took place at the wonderful Machine Shop in Minneapolis, and went so smoothly, thanks to Bre of Bre is Fun. We covered the day along with Kyndra of Love Infinity. Laura was a vision in her gown from The Wedding Shoppe, and carried a gorgeous bouquet from Sadie’s Couture Floral. What a beautiful wedding!

Alex’s excitement to see Laura was palpable. They had a sweet first sight!

Off for a little walk for pictures! Minneapolis was showing off today with the weather, it was pretty perfect!

Such a rockin’ wedding party!

Before the ceremony, the couple read letters they wrote to each other.

The ceremony was full of laughter and happy tears. These two are so loved!

Time for the reception! This classic wedding had many modern touches, perfect for the industrial space of The Machine Shop.

After some rousing speeches, we snuck away with the couple for a few sunset portraits, and then went back to kick off the dance! Adagio had this crowd partying!

Alex and Laura, thank you so much for trusting us to tell the story of your day! We are honored, and hope you love your sneak peek!!!
